Hello, my name is Jerry Johnson and I am a candidate for the District 8 House seat. District 8 is made up of Moody, Lake, Miner and Sanborn counties.
Each year there are many challenges facing our state, we all must be willing to work together and make difficult and progressive decision in business development, agriculture, education and state government.
I have had the privilege and honor of serving the community of Madison in a wide variety of roles. I served six years as a city commissioner for Madison and still very involved in civic boards, corporation boards and association boards to help promote and improve the quality of life in our city and state. I am proud of the quality of education I received from the local public school system and then from Dakota State University.
I have been very fortunate to have worked in the transportation industry for over 25 years. This business has given me an opportunity to understand state and federal regulations, the need to recruit and retain quality employees, be aware of new technologies available and be fiscally responsible to stay competitive in ever changing economic market.
As a legislature I will work hard on each and every issue for the people of District 8 and the State of South Dakota!
